1. Know your coffee's origin

We have been working together with the Dutra family since 2010 and brothers Walter and Ednilson have been our steadfast allies, entrusting us with their finest coffee harvest year after year. We have been buying their coffee each year since 2010 and after all these years they made a whole separate area within their Fazenda exclusively for us.

This section is called Pedra Bonita, within this section we have several specific lots from different varieties and processing methods such as Pedra Preta and Boa Sorte.

The Dutra family's legacy looms large over the Brazilian coffee landscape, their domain spanning 500 acres and producing 16,000 bags annually, of which 6,000 bags are specialty coffee quality. Renowned as the best example of Brazilian specialty coffee, their success is a testament to unwavering passion, hard work, and continuing commitment to perfection and improving quality. We take immense pride in their journey and because of their relentless dedication, this coffee is 100% Bio/Organic certified. We roast this coffee for espresso. It's an OR Coffee classic! Easy to dial in on your grinder with a balanced body, sweet milk chocolate notes and a medium acidity. We love this as a double espresso to kick-start the day or as a base for our cappuccino.

An espresso recipe consists of a dose in grams ground coffee, yield in grams of brewed espresso, and a brewing time. Using a scale and measuring the brewing time when you pull your espresso shots will help you replicate the recipe and quickly troubleshoot when issues arise.
